Terms of Use
Last updated 9 September 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Roll, Inc. when you use the Roll app or the guest camera at rollphotos.app. Using Roll means you accept them. If you don't, don't use it.
What Roll is
You create a film for an event and share a QR code. Guests scan it and get a fixed number of frames. If you turn on Voice Roll they can also leave one 10–30 second voice note. Nobody sees any photo or hears any note until the reveal time you chose — then the film develops and the host gets every frame and every note.
Your account
You need to be 13 or older to host an event, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live. Keep your sign-in secure; what happens under your account is your responsibility. You can delete your account at any time from You → Account → Delete account, which erases your films and their photos for good.
Price
Roll is free to download and free to create a film during this launch. There are no in-app purchases and no subscription. The "unlimited guests" option is subject to a fair-use ceiling of 500 guests per event. If something goes wrong, write to support@rollphotos.app.
The photos and voice notes
- You keep your rights. Photos and voice notes taken at an event belong to the people who made them. You give us only the limited licence we need to store them, deliver them to the host and, if the host allows it, to the guests.
- The host gets the film. By taking photos or leaving a voice note at an event you agree the host of that event receives them. Don't shoot or say anything you're not comfortable handing over.
- Consent. Photograph people only where you're allowed to, and don't take photos of anyone who has said no.
- Retention. We keep event photos and voice notes for 12 months, then delete them. Save what you want to keep — the app can save the whole film to your camera roll.
What's not allowed
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. Do not use Roll to:
- photograph or share sexual content involving minors, or any illegal content;
- harass, threaten, defame or intimidate anyone;
- photograph people without their consent where they have a reasonable expectation of privacy;
- share hateful, violent or sexually explicit material;
- break the law, or someone else's rights, in any other way.
Reporting and enforcement
Every photo and voice note in a developed film has a Report action, and every guest can be blocked by the host — a blocked guest stops shooting immediately and their frames leave the film. Reported photos are hidden the moment they're flagged and reviewed by us within 24 hours. We remove content and terminate accounts that break these rules, and we report illegal content to the authorities. You can also report anything to support@rollphotos.app.
Availability
We work to keep Roll running, but we don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Roll is provided "as is". We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss; where liability can't be excluded, it is limited to what you paid us for the event in question (currently nothing — films are free). Nothing here limits liability that can't be limited by law.
Ending it
You can stop using Roll and delete your account whenever you like. We can suspend or end access if these terms are broken.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app before they apply. Questions: support@rollphotos.app.
